Praying for Peace and Justice on June 1, 2025
Holy One, we are facing hard and frightening times, both as citizens and as a species. We are putting so much energy into trying to follow your guidance, and turn humanity toward a better path. But your creation is bigger than that. We are part of a world that includes millions of other species, and we have obligations of justice, and mercy, toward them as well. Animals need peace and justice too, and their plight at human hands is heartbreaking. They are not ours, to use as we please. Help us find the focus and energy to keep our eyes on the ultimate goal – your peaceable kingdom where the entire planet can live in harmony and health. And please give us the courage to turn these words into actions, one day at a time. May it be so.
