Holy One, we rejoice that Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia has been vindicated of wrongdoing in the case of human trafficking so unjustly brought against him. Our joy knows no bounds for him and his family, yet our hearts remain heavy for all those falsely imprisoned simply because they are not white skinned and born in the U.S. We who know that all are born of the same blood of your making look to you for solace and justice as the sense of superiority and greed fuels horrid and unjust action against our brothers and sisters being persecuted, sometimes to the point of death.…

Dear Lord,

We come before you today to seek your blessing on our damaged and hurting world.

We ask that you watch over our brothers and sisters of any country who continue to suffer the frenzy and confusion of war. Please stand alongside people of goodwill, on all sides, who wish for peace.

Give them patience and hope; let them see a future of comfort and goodness, and let them find the courage to keep living lives which will build a world of wholeness for everyone.

Blessed God, please allow the strength of our gathered prayer to fill their weary hearts, and sustain them through the moments of pain and violence they will face.…

Lord of Peace and Justice, inspired by the call of Pope Francis, who reminds us that “every migrant who knocks on our door is an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ,”

We have witnessed how your immigrant sons and daughters live in fear of going out into the streets, how they have been beaten, imprisoned, and some murdered; 

separated families cry out to be reunited we also raise to you the anguish of exiles and refugees who live in uncertainty and constant fear, facing the risk of being deported to unknown countries, far from everything they love; we also see how social programs are being cut or eliminated, increasing inequality and the suffering of the most vulnerable.…
