A Prayer for God’s Embrace of our Immigrant Neighbors

Praying for Peace and Justice on May 3, 2026

Let us pray:

Lord of Peace and Justice, inspired by the call of Pope Francis, who reminds us that “every migrant who knocks on our door is an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ,”

We have witnessed how your immigrant sons and daughters live in fear of going out into the streets, how they have been beaten, imprisoned, and some murdered;

separated families cry out to be reunited we also raise to you the anguish of exiles and refugees who live in uncertainty and constant fear, facing the risk of being deported to unknown countries, far from everything they love; we also see how social programs are being cut or eliminated, increasing inequality and the suffering of the most vulnerable.

Embrace them with your love and give them comfort in their pain. Fill their hearts with strength, hope, and peace. Remind them that they are not alone and that you walk with them.

AMEN
