The new exhibit in our gallery features works by students who live, work or worship in Takoma Park. Most of them take classes offered by the Takoma Park Recreation Program.

Needlework offers another means of communicating that spark of creativity that is present in all of us.   This exhibit represents various students with connections to Takoma Park.  Most are new to needlework and all have been students of June Gable.  She is a volunteer teacher with the Senior Program of the Recreation Program of the City of Takoma Park.

The exhibit is a way to celebrate the great spirit of boldly stepping out in new directions that is at the heart of Takoma Park. The items represent people willing to try and try again as they learn new skills and to bring something of themselves to modest works like pot holders and scarves.
