Each Sunday morning, bridging our informal gathering time, during which we share from our lives, and our formal worship time, a different person, usually from Seekers, offers a prayer for peace and justice. Each person chooses what to say, with no prompting or guidance from the coordinator other than to be brief, prayerful and focused on peace and justice. Holy One, Your prophet Jeremiah spoke the words “Peace, Peace where there is no Peace” and they remind us of the long history of conflict in the lands we call Palestine and Israel. And here we are today. Of all the suffering peoples of the earth, those of this region are deserving of peace and justice. And deserving of efforts from any and all quarters to help them achieve it.
