The Stewards of Seekers Church, a group of core members who hold the health and business of the community in their care, meet monthly. Each meeting is opened with a time of worship led by a different volunteer Steward. Each worship leader brings their own gifts and creativity to the role.
Silver Spring Interfaith Housing Coalition (SSIHC) has a mission of "ending homelessness one family at a time" and Seekers Church has embraced this ministry with a fully open heart. Seekers supports SSIHC both financially and in service to the families in the program - of our small community of 50 or so people there are 8 members in active service (2 of them serving in dual capacities) and several who less formally have taken members of 2 of SSIHC's families into their hearts.

Seekers supports many organizations with our domestic giving. Hope and a Home is one of these organizations. When Seekers' founders Sonya Dyer and Fred Taylor were beginning our community, they also were creating Hope and a Home whose dream always has been to help low income families get established in DC.
Seekers has had conversation for several years now about Peace Camp and it is finally happening! Seekers, with Little Friends for Peace, will sponsor a one-day Peace Camp on Saturday, July 26, for kids ages 3-11. Teens are welcome to come as counselors-in-training. Activities will include art, music, games and riding the Peace Train to learn about conflict resolution.
