Each Sunday morning, bridging our informal gathering time, during which we share from our lives, and our formal worship time, a different person, usually from Seekers, offers a prayer for peace and justice. Each person chooses what to say, with no prompting or guidance from the coordinator other than to be brief, prayerful and focused on peace and justice. On this page, we offer the text of some of those prayers.

A Prayer of Gratitude for Creativity Amidst Oppression
Praying for Peace and Justice on June 8, 2025 Gracious Living God, Each week we come beseeching you to give us the strength and courage to find what is ours to do to bring justice to and relieve the suffering of so many in our world – immigrants, poor people, people of color, queer people, people in war zones, those living in areas deeply affected by climate change, our non-human fellow creatures. A Prayer for Peace and Justice for All Animals
Praying for Peace and Justice on June 1, 2025 Holy One, we are facing hard and frightening times, both as citizens and as a species. We remember his name and the uprising of sorrow and truth his death unleashed across the world. Strengthen us to fight for what still remains undone. Breathe your Spirit into your people, until all can breathe free. May it be so. Background…
A Prayer for Gratitude, Patience and Compassion
Praying for Peace and Justice on May 18, 2025 Holy One, God, grant us gratitude, patience, and compassion towards our companions in the work–and the same to them, for us. Give us the courage and strength to add our voices to the choir, and the wisdom and discernment to know when to rest and let others carry the note. Give us honesty to unearth conflict, and skillfulness and humility to resolve it. May we experience this connection as a mirror of Your divine love, not only in our minds and spirits, but in our bodies. In the name of the Three…
