All:         O Holy One, we come today

              to claim our relationship with you.

COMMUNION

GREAT THANKSGIVING

Leader 1: Holy, Luminous Mystery, we give you thanks

                that you turn our mourning into dancing,
                and fill us with the brightness of resurrection.

Voice 1:   We give you thanks

                for the wonder of each day’s new dawn,

                bearing the bright promise of healing and peace.

Voice 2:   We give you thanks for the gift of the Holy Spirit,

                filling our mouths with laughter,

                and our hearts with wonder and delight.

All:          We give you thanks for Jesus, the Christ,

               who lived and died and rose again,

               lighting our way to new life in him.

BLESSING THE ELEMENTS

Leader 2: Christ invites everyone to eat the bread of life,

                to drink the cup of the new covenant.

Leader 1: Jesus said, I am the bread of life.

                You who come to me shall never hunger,

                You who believe in me shall never thirst.

Leader 2: On the night of his arrest, Jesus took bread,

                and after giving thanks to God, broke it and said,

                This is my body, which is for you;

                do this remembering me.

Leader 1: After supper, Jesus took the cup and said,

               This is the cup of the new covenant;

               Whenever you drink it, do so remembering me.

Leader 2: And so we eat this bread and drink from this cup

                in the glorious light of Christ’s risen body,

                and proclaim the mystery of faith:

All:           Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
