Praying for Peace and Justice on December 28, 2025
Let us pray:
Holy one, you have given us the dream of peace on earth. At every turn you remind us that we are one human family, and that all living species are meant to share the earth. Yet once again we find ourselves on the brink of another unjust and unnecessary war.
I pray that you fill the minds and hearts of the warmongers with visions of death, of children maimed and bleeding, of women raped, of soldiers blown to bits, of hopelessness and destruction and misery. Help the warmongers truly feel the cost of what they propose to do. Help them see themselves in the victims of war. Help them truly feel what they do to the spirits of the soldiers who must carry out the wickedness of unjust war.
I pray that the leaders of my government may find no escape from these dreadful truths. Frighten them, holy one, disgust them, fill them with the knowledge of what war does. And in doing this, we pray that you may give us, each morning, one more day of peace in Venezuela.
