Seekers recognizes that any member of the community may be called upon by God to give us the Word, and thus we have an open pulpit with a different preacher each week. Sermons preached at Seekers, as well as sermons preached by Seekers at other churches or events, are posted here, beginning with the most recent.

Feel free to use what is helpful from these sermons. We only ask that when substantial portions are abstracted or used in a written work, please credit Seekers Church and the author, and cite the URL.
“The Realm of God is Like a Risky Investment” by Peter Bankson
November 13, 2005
Last spring, when Reverend Lola signed up for a class in our School of Christian Living it felt like a new chapter in our life as a faith community. Oh, in the past we have welcomed folks to our school who were not part of our worshiping community, but when you came here to be with us on Tuesday evenings it felt like a real welcome to our new home. Now you are sharing our space. Thanks be to God!

November 27, 2005
The head nurse wanted to send her to the hospital, but my mother was firm: “I want to stay here, in my own bed.” Therefore, I told the nurse “No” and began to push back against the system dedicated to life at all costs.
Deborah Sokolove: Jesus Saves, or Binding up the Broken-Hearted
November 20, 2005
I think it is not possible to live in an English-speaking country without encountering the slogan, “Jesus saves.” What does that mean? I suspect that all of us has been asked by some earnest, often young, person, “are you saved?” Before I was a Christian, I used to wonder from what they thought I needed to be saved.
Muriel Lipp: Hymns that have Moved Me
October 30, 2005
The Word, or Words, I bring you today are the words and tunes of hymns, and I am asking you to sing them with me. We come here each Sunday to worship God, and some of that worship takes place in hymns.
