Sermons

Seekers recognizes that any member of the community may be called upon by God to give us the Word, and thus we have an open pulpit with a different preacher each week. Sermons preached at Seekers, as well as sermons preached by Seekers at other churches or events, are posted here, beginning with the most recent.

“The Fruits of Repentance” by Marjory Zoet Bankson

December 17, 2006

In years of listening to John the Baptist during Advent, I had confused repentance with guilt and blame. When the people ask what they should do in response to John’s call for repentance, he doesn’t blame or shame them at all. He simply gives them specific actions related to the particular circumstances of their lives.
