Sermons

Seekers recognizes that any member of the community may be called upon by God to give us the Word, and thus we have an open pulpit with a different preacher each week. Sermons preached at Seekers, as well as sermons preached by Seekers at other churches or events, are posted here, beginning with the most recent.

Feel free to use what is helpful from these sermons. We only ask that when substantial portions are abstracted or used in a written work, please credit Seekers Church and the author, and cite the URL.

Several times each year, Seekers Church takes time out from its regular preaching schedule to focus on the inward journey. This Sunday was one such occasion.

Jesse Palidofsky spoke about the sabbatical that he has just completed at Rolling Ridge. When I first heard about Faith-At-Work’s annual service trip to Guatemala, my immediate reaction was: THAT is something I want my whole family to do together. At this point, my husband Stephen and daughter Carmen had been on Katrina re-building trips, Carmen had worked on projects in El Salvador, but I had always manned the home front, and we had never done anything like this as a family. This trip presented itself as a challenge, a challenge to step outside of the everyday and familiar

What exactly is transformation?  Has there ever been a transformation in your life?  Or if I was asking a defensive teenager, I would say, "Can you think of someone in your life you would like to transform?  How about your parents, for example.  What would the transformation look like after it took place?
