A Prayer for the People of Palestine and Gaza and so many others

Praying for Peace and Justice on December 21, 2025

Let us pray.

We pray as Seekers Church for the coming of the one whose name Emanuel means “God with us.” We pray with the people of Palestine and Gaza “Ya Rabbal Salam. Lord of Peace, rain peace upon us. Lord of Peace, fill our land with peace.” Pray with me. Ya Rabbal Salam. Ya Rabbal Salam.

We pray for peace, we pray for justice, we pray that in future years we will not need to put other Christ Children within rubble in our front window, that they will no longer live in the rubble within Lebanon, Yemen, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Congo, Haiti, Myanmar, between Afghanistan and Pakistan, within Ukraine, and within Russia.…

A Prayer Offering a Confession of Faith

Praying for Peace and Justice on December 14, 2025

Holy One, hear our confession of faith:

1. Commandment to Love: We confess that God commands us to love with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves (Deuteronomy 6.5, Mathew 22:36-40; Mark12:30-31). A Prayer for Just Policies to Make Our Roads Safe

Praying for Peace and Justice on November 16, 2025

Heavenly Parent, Teacher, Source of All Wisdom, you have given humans your great gift of creativity. Help us to use it with joy and abandon, while also being mindful that what we create can do harm as well as good, and it’s our responsibility to fix that harm.

We remember Summer Lim and James Anderson, local youth kill this year while walking or biking to or from school, as well as others. We ask for your blessing and healing for grieving families, and for encouragement for our representative, Jamie, and our senator, Chris, who are working legislatively to see this priority reflected in our transportation budget.…

Praying for Peace and Justice on November 9, 2025

Dear God, your word and spirit have taught millions across the centuries to love our neighbors.  You taught us through vision, the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament as well as many other faith traditions that lives, all lives, will be supported by organizing the means to share abundance where it is absent.

We pray that your support will continue to feed us with love, gratitude, faith and hope so that we continue to pursue your vision.  May Peace and Justice prevail! Amen.

For the Peace and Justice  prayer this morning, I hold up “community-based organizations.” …

A Prayer to Know the Love, Beauty, Awe and Wonder that God intends for us

Praying for Peace and Justice on October 26, 2025

Holy Creator, in this time of fear and feeling like the ground we stand on is crumbling beneath our feet, we struggle to know what is ours to do to make sure that our children and the generations that follow are imbued with the love, beauty, and sense of awe and wonder that you intend for all.

To my beloved community I offer as prayer Crys Matthews’ inspirations for her song Battle Hymn for an Army of Lovers from six muses:

Her mom reminded her that she had seen many presidents come and go in her lifetime and was still standing.…
