A Prayer of Gratitude for Those Who Organize to Share Abundance

Praying for Peace and Justice on November 9, 2025

Dear God, your word and spirit have taught millions across the centuries to love our neighbors.  You taught us through vision, the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament as well as many other faith traditions that lives, all lives, will be supported by organizing the means to share abundance where it is absent.

We pray that your support will continue to feed us with love, gratitude, faith and hope so that we continue to pursue your vision.  May Peace and Justice prevail! Amen.

A Prayer to Know the Love, Beauty, Awe and Wonder that God intends for us

Praying for Peace and Justice on October 26, 2025

Holy Creator, in this time of fear and feeling like the ground we stand on is crumbling beneath our feet, we struggle to know what is ours to do to make sure that our children and the generations that follow are imbued with the love, beauty, and sense of awe and wonder that you intend for all.

To my beloved community I offer as prayer Crys Matthews’ inspirations for her song Battle Hymn for an Army of Lovers from six muses:

A Prayer for to Hear the Voices of the Sandcastle people

Praying for Peace and Justice on October 19, 2025

In a space of getting organized, when it is time to admit that what was standing before has now been collapsed or washed away, we might feel like we are in the mud like wet sand on the beach. Some people among us will see the sandcastles we could build, and some of us just see mud.

God,

May be have the clarity, honesty, faith and courage

to hear the voices of the sandcastle people over the defeating crash of the waves.

Amen.

Praying for Peace and Justice on October 12, 2025

Let us Pray

Holy Breath of Creation,

We read this morning’s headline – “Israelis and Palestinians Await Hostage – Prisoner Swap with Relief and Elation” and we, too, feel relief and elation.  We see the long lines of Palestinian families making their way back north to their homes and we are grateful for that sight, even as we know the monumental and heartbreaking task of rebuilding ahead of them.

We know how fragile this peace plan is.  We sense how easy it may be for a few who are not feeling relief and elation but rather anger and betrayal at the laying down of arms to derail it.…

A Prayer for Immigrants

Praying for Peace and Justice on October 5, 2025

God of mercy,
we remember all who are far from home,
those who travel with fear,
those who wait with uncertainty,
those who long for safety and welcome.

Bless them with strength for the journey.
Protect their children.
Give them hope when the road is hard.

Soften our hearts, O God,
that we may see our neighbors in every stranger.
Make us bold to speak for justice,
and gentle enough to offer peace.

Let every person find a place of belonging,
and let no one be treated as less than Your child.…
