Bokamoso Report: Roy offered a generally positive view of developments for both Bokamoso and the Bokamoso Foundation. Both he and Elese have stepped back from the foundation to make space for new and younger leadership, but Roy remains in a background, consultative role. There is new leadership at the Bokamoso Youth Centre in Winterveld with the hiring of a new manager, Steve has grown into his job as artistic director, and there are new members on the board. There are some challenges for Seekers in how we can continue to support the workshop program.
Takoma Park Festival: OMG will report in September on our planned participation in the Festival, which happens on October 6.
Friendship Dinner Report: Brenda reported that they have been a big success, measured both by participation and enthusiastic response. The next series will be in late September through early November, with another one in the winter. Alternate times and meal formats are being considered.
Sunday Coffee Prep and Cleanup: Brenda reported there is still a need for a coordinator for coffee hour on Sunday morning, which she noted is “not really about coffee but part of our spacious hospitality.” Vincent volunteered to be involved in this work.
Pastoral Concerns: Stewards discussed various members with special needs for pastoral care.
Two Stewards to Share: Keith and Ken shared about their current lives and changes in the last year.
