Meeting God in the Hebrew Scriptures

taught by David Lloyd

Two of the fundamental faith questions for each of us are "Who is God?" and "Who am I in relation to God?" We will explore the people of Israel’s changing understanding of God, and in their encounters explore our own changing understanding of God. We will read snippets of Genesis, Exodus, I Samuel, Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, and other relevant portions of the Hebrew Scriptures, seeking answers to these questions.

The Semi-Secrets of Seekers

taught by Marjory Bankson (and a variety of others)

Have you wondered how Seekers works? What the values and guiding principles are? How one joins…and why? This class will be a basic introduction to the values and structures which have emerged over time. Meant for newcomers and long-time members as well, we will hear from different people at each session and use direct experience, the Seekers’ Story, and Guide to Seekers pamphlet as our basic texts. Here is an outline of the class as it will be presented week by week:

4. Journey Inward: Sabbath Times/Wilderness Times
