The Sacred Circle of Living and Dying, offered by Jesse Palidofsky and the Living Water mission group
It has been suggested that the new "unmentionable topic" in our time, which yet has an unhealthy fascination for us, revolves around issues of death and dying. Even 40 years after the advent of the hospice movement, it is often still a challenge in our society to talk openly about the physical, emotional, and spiritual issues faced by a dying person and their loved ones. We will explore our own previous experiences around dying, look at issues of lament and forgiveness, and explore caregiver suffering and the myth of the perfect death. In what ways is our Christian faith helpful and/or unhelpful as we look at these issues? The needs of participants will help to shape the direction of our explorations.
Becoming a Dialogical Community, offered by Rebecca Sears
Why is it so hard to live with others? What's really causing all that conflict (hint: it's not the other person!)? How do I contribute to keeping relationships stuck, whether personally or in community? And how do I step further into becoming the person God intended? These and other empowering and transformational insights await you in our six-week SCL class. Working from the relational paradigm and using the skills of Imago relationship work, we will step into the challenging work of becoming a healing and growing community. This class builds on itself, so please try to make all classes...and join us!
