Led by Marjory Zoet Bankson, author of Call to the Soul, experienced guide and relational teacher.
How can we discern God's call from the many other demands on our time? What difference does it make to see our work in the context of call? Using art, reading and reflection, this class will focus on the nature and nurture of God's call at this particular time in your life. Using my book, Call to the Soul, we will start with the spiral of call over time, delve into biblical and contemporary understandings of call and gifts, and come out with a clear picture of your next steps. You can expect personal and group work in each session.
Led by David Lloyd, a long-time member of Seekers church who has taught relational classes in the School of Christian Living on scripture, doctrine and clowning for many years.
Christian congregations have disagreed over issues of Christian belief and behavior since the beginning of Christianity. As we read the text of the two letters, well explore similarities and differences between the issues that challenged Corinthian Christians and issues that challenge us: Christian behavior in a secular society, Christian sexuality, proper rituals of worship, the role of women in society and the congregation, the exercise of spiritual gifts, and resolving conflicts within a congregation. In weekly homework assignments, well each explore what Gods word might be for our congregation in the 21st century.
