Three August '04 Tuesday Evenings in the School of Christian Living

Body-spirit, art and beauty will be the focus of School of Christian Living discussions on August 17, 24 and 31. (The first session, originally scheduled for 8/10, was postponed until 8/17.) This conversation grows out of the rich and lively exchanges among Keith Seat, his Growing Edge advisory panel
(Deborah Sokolove, Kate Amoss, Tiffany Montavon and Billy Amoss), and other Seekers Keith has photographed. The expanded discussions are one way to invite the entire community to deepen our understandings of the body-spirit connection.  

Specific topics to be covered include:

• What is our understanding of beauty in the context of our (imperfect) bodies? A selection of Keith's photographs will help inform the discussion.
• How can we unpack our (conscious or unconscious) understandings of body, sexuality, erotica, artistic images, and intimacy? What is the myth of being naked in the garden all about, anyway?
• What is our understanding of the body-spirit connection?

All Seekers men and women to are invited to join the dinner and conversation on any or all of the three Tuesday evenings. A brown-bag supper will begin at 7 p.m., followed by discussion from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Carroll Street. Write us with questions.
