Lessons in Non-violent Conversation:
How to Talk to Each Other About the Hard Stuff

Seekers Church Peace Witness is sponsoring three classes in the January term of the School of Christian Living, beginning Tuesday, January 13 and running the 20th and 27th.

Working with the book  "Non-Violent Communication," by Marshall Rosenberg, this three week series of classes will pick up a thread from the 2002 Advent classes that explored our Seekers commitment to work to end all wars, public and personal.

Moving beyond respectfully listening to each other's personal stories, we will sharpen our skills at hanging in with difficult conversations when people do not share common opinions or values.

Learning non-violent dialogue skills can be valuable for us as individuals- in our relationships within our families, our church community and all other parts of our lives.  It can also be valuable for us as a community  that might create a welcoming place for diverse opinions to be shared, as part of our commitment to peacemaking in  the wider world.

Brown bag dinner at 7; class from 7:30- 9:15.

While classes in this short January term are generally offered on a "come to one, two or all three" basis, the second and third of these particular classes will build on the previous weeks.  If you are not able to come to all three, it would be a good idea, at a minimum, to get the materials and speak to one of the facilitators

Sign up after worship on Sunday, or if you live in the Washington DC area, please Write us.
