SERVANT LEADERSHIP is GOOD NEWS

Twelve Tuesday Evening Sessions  (February 22  - May 9)

In this course we will look at the concept of Servant Leadership (a phrase coined by John Greenleaf, whose initial essay on the subject gave rise to our name -- Seekers).  We will consider how some Biblical "leaders" dealt with what is now called by this name, and then examine our leadership needs in Seekers from the perspective of those leaders.  Expect some reading, more prayer and reflection, and a touch of improvisational theater.

Facilitators:            Cynthia Dahlin, Peter Bankson

GENDER and the SPIRITUAL WAY

Six Tuesday Evening Sessions (February 22 - March 28)

Members of the Spirit and Sexuality Mission Group will lead an exploration of how gender identities and cultural expectations impact our spiritual journey. We will playfully, prayerfully, and perhaps, painfully, explore how our gender identities both empower and limit our quest for personal truths and the Truth.

More information is available in a separate flyer.

Facilitators: Kate Cudlipp and Jeanne Marcus

ACTS of the APOSTLES and ACTS of SEEKERS

Six Tuesday Evening Sessions (April 4 - May 9)

A look at issues and concerns facing Seekers Church through the lens of the First Century Church as reflected in the Acts of the Apostles. More information to follow.

HEART and a HAND

Four Third Saturdays (February 19, March 18, April 15 and May 13)

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

This class is a once-a-month opportunity for intergenerational sharing while doing handwork.   Each Saturday will have a set of questions or reflections, based on the lectionary, for participants to use in their conversation time. Participants can bring their own handwork or make a community quilt that will go to at-risk babies. Participants can come for one or all sessions. If participating in all sessions, this class counts toward the Seekers Christian Growth requirement. Bring a brown bag lunch. Margreta will provide gentle guidance. See or e-mail her (mks@hers.com) for more information and to register.

Heart and a Hand is a project of the Learners and Teachers Mission Group, which is exploring opportunities for learning and teaching outside of, and in addition to, those available on Tuesday evening.

Facilitator: Margreta Silverstone

WRITING the SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Four First Sundays (February 6, March 5, April 2, and May 7)

11:00 AM - Noon

Back by popular demand, and at a new time, is Anne Beaufort’s spiritual writing offering. It is an opportunity for all Seekers to deepen their writing practice. We will journal in communal silence for at least half an hour and read from our writings as we are led. The location is on the third floor of 2025. See Anne for more information.

Heart and a Hand and Writing the Spiritual Journey are projects of the Seekers School of Christian and the Learners and Teachers Mission group, which is exploring opportunities for learning and teaching outside of, and in addition to, those available on Tuesday evening.
