6. Mutual Expectations in Seekers' Mission Groups

You

  1. Clarity about the purpose of the group (a "call").
  2. A regular schedule of meetings.
  3. Help in offering yourself to the group (calling forth of gifts).
  4. A clear understanding of the amount of time/energy involved in group participation.
  5. A structure that has room for each participant to share.
  6. Guidelines to nurture personal spiritual growth ("spiritual discipline").
  7. Support as you face the pain in your life.
  8. A spiritual director who will receive and respond to regular written reflections on your life and spiritual growth.
  9. Confidentiality for what you share with the group.
  10. Group life that balances work, play and worship.

The Mission Group

  1. Commitment to the mission of the group.
  2. Regular attendance at group meetings.
  3. Readiness to share your gifts with the group.
  4. Commitment of time and energy to belong to the group.
  5. Participation in the structured activity of the group.
  6. Commitment to follow the spiritual discipline of the group.
  7. Honest and open sharing of yourself.
  8. Regular written reports to your spiritual director (accountability).
  9. Confidentiality for what others share with you.
  10. Work, play and worship together.
